started off my day underneath a shack @ the foot of Peanut Hill surveying a nightmare of busted half inch CPVC pipes & suddenly felt this dog licking the back of my right ear. I turned my flashlight & discovered I was the target of an enormous pit bull's affection. I started hollering. The owners, a lovely couple of rail thin geek monsters hollered back from the back yard,"He don't bite!" (These two are the super heroes of copper thieves) Anywayzzz, 48 feet of pipe later, all new supply lines to the commode, toilet, bathroom vanity, tub & kitchen sink: I'M FINISHED! NO LEAKS PLUS FOUR EXTRA HRS. TOWARD THE BEACH! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjnzEeCbGkY
Mr. Register-I have forwarded all of this wonderful information to Carolie Kay, Morgan's widow. I know she will be glad to get it. She wrote yesterday from Boone, NC where her husband, bob and she live in the summer time to get away from our stifling central Virginia humidity and heat to say that they would be dedicating the Boy Scout Facility in Florence, Alabama named in Morgan Weed's honor on November 1 and that she hopes to attend the dedication ceremony. Thanks to your note, I have new website to check out regarding this American hero and have dedicated my own celebration of Memorial Day this year to him and to his family he left behind.

Thank you so much,
Pat Summers

Hello Sir.
I am curious about the Stevie Nicks picture you have within your blog. You noted that this is from "The CW"; can you tell me about The CW? I am most curious if there was an article accompanying the photograph and where I might be able to find...if it is still in existence.
Thank you for your time.

Hey y'all~

I recovered from the defeat yesterday by going down to King's Landing on the Alabama River in Dallas County and traveling a little over ten miles up the road to Pleasant Hill just like Philip Henry Gosse did in 1838.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Henry_Gosse

I discovered Gosse at Young Jr. back in '64 when I got a hold of a copy of Lucille Griffith's HISTORY OF ALABAMA 1540-1900 as recorded in DIARIES, LETTERS, AND PAPERS OF THE TIMES.

Gosse came to Dallas County to teach school in 1838.
http://www.encyclopediaofalabama.org/face/Article.jsp?id=h-1659
He kept a journal and published it in 1859.

Sea Anemones by Philip Henry Gosse, 1860

I saw lots of critters on my journey.

While watching a large kingfisher glide down Six Mile Creek, I heard a cry of "GAW! GAW! GAW!" behind me.
I thought I was back on 30th Avenue cause it sounded just like a Tarzan movie!

No ghettoppottamuses were in sight.
It was only an anhinga.

Driving along a dirt road beside the Alabama River I saw a herd of deer up ahead. I slowed down to a creep. By the time I got to them there were only three does and two fawns left but they walked around my truck like I was in a national park.

I also saw a beautiful specimen of a Great Egret.

But NOW
that ain't the end uv dah story...

Rite NOW!
When you google
kingfisher "robertoreg"

THE GODDAMN IMAGE REAPPEARS!!!

needs to hit the hay early tonight 'cause they opening that new Mississippian museum in Moundville tomorrow morning @ 9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGtlXzsg59U
We are in the last stages of the transportation museum. I am need your help to answer a question about Croxton's raid. Were men in Croxton's cavalry previously POW's at the Tuscaloosa prison? I have read something like this before, but can't find a source to verify the claim.

Thank you,

John

Tell ya what, John,
That's a super question & all ya have to do is find the roll of Federal prisoners who were held here & compare them with the rolls of the 2nd Michigan Calvary, the 6th Kentucky Calvary & the 8th Iowa in April of '65.

A more important question to me is why the Yankees were so HOT to burn the University. They didn't burn UVA.

Could it be that our students were responsible for killing more Yankees than anyone could think possible?
I think so.

is receiving inquiries about the superb, world-class shellcracker fishing in Lake Seminole & Merritt's Mill Pond. The current world record was caught in South Carolina. Maybe Shellcrackers are THE SOLUTION TO THE ZEBRA MUSSEL!
